Lesson Plans: 1/18 to 1/22

Students will be working on the iCEV NCLCA Certification modules, the lesson plans described below are for the Livestock Breed Identification: Goats module. All components of this module must be completed by no later than 11:59 PM on 1/20/2021. On 1/21, students will begin working on the Livestock Breed Identification: Sheep module, and all components will be due no later than 11:59 PM on 1/22/2021.

Livestock Breed Identification: Goats

Goal:

To provide students with the primary goat breeds, their origins, characteristics, unique facts and purposes for production.

Description:

Livestock production is one of the most important industries in the World. The Livestock Breeds Identification series takes a look at cattle, sheep, goats and swine breeds. In this presentation, students will discover valuable information regarding the types of goats raised in the world as well as their origins and characteristics. Students will also learn what important roles and purposes they have in livestock production.

Objectives:

1. To identify the breeds of goats.

2. To understand the breeds origins and characteristics.

3. To analyze the breeds importance in livestock production.
